A long journey of finding that elusive Wii

Finally got my hands on a Nintendo Wii...That's right, finally got one after 3 months of solid searching.

Its amazing how long it took along with the price I had to pay in getting it with like 7 other games for the bundle package. Sons of @%#@#'s couldn't sell it separately so I had to buy it in a damn monster pack. Other than that, its another distraction that I have yet to find time for. This semester is going to be hard as hell.

Car Accident

I was driving on the 10 freeway west bound towards LA in the city of Alhambra. I was off the Atlantic/Garfield exit and there was heavy traffic because of a bad crash that happened 5 minutes before I got there. My accident happened while I was in the fast lane and this milk truck ran into me with his monster ass bumper tearing off my tire off the rim, killing my bumper, killing my lights, destroying my muffler and just pushing me forward about 15 feet. The milk truck was okay and thank god its wonder tonic was not damaged. Think of the children who would've grown up without a cup of wonderful milk. During this whole time, I was traveling 5mph trying to drive past the current accident scene until I had to stop to allow a merging vehicle in front of me, then he hit. The sound of brakes and tires overtaking friction hitting my truck. sigh.... The emergency people already at the other accident scene shook their heads and ran to my truck to help me and the truck driver out. Firefighters and EMT are like "ARE YOU ALL RIGHT SIR? DO YOU NEED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE?". At this point I jump out of my truck in the freeway yelling "@%#%@*)(!@ all the words" and i'm ranting in the diamond lane. After venting for a couple of seconds I signal to the truck driver who is still in the ass of my truck to get over to the other accident scene to help society out with their traffic woes and improve congestion. We pull over and a CHP officer came and it was my friend Officer Kelly. He recognizes me and askes how in the world we meet again. He was just laughing at me the whole time asking how Mike's girlfriend was in her accident case (which happened 3 weeks ago, in the same location on the east bound lane though). He still remembered me from that time we met so I am lucky I have him on my side in writing the report of the accident. I'll probably have head injuries and neck problems later but my whole side of the truck is trashed. Tire blew up when i drove off to the side and i had to replace it with the full spare. The truck rides fine but its not the same. Its like someone took a bat and did some remodeling. The other milk truck came out fine, the cal trans people got a crowbar and fixed his bumper like it was brand new. My truck however lost the bumper, tailight, mudflap, muffler tip, tire rim, my new tires, and my side rail.

At least the officer told me in secret that it was not my fault and it was the other guys fault. I am never driving in any asian town ever again. They all fucking suck.

Escrow Closes!

This has probably been the most stressful thing anybody has to go through and I went through every imaginable delay known to exist in the home industry. I found this home in Riverside for me to live in for UCR and its a great house that sports 5 bedrooms and 3 baths so I took it upon myself to pitch in some deposit money and split the costs with the parents for them to hold onto under my name so we can build that perfect credit. After putting in the offer for the house, we got accepted for the deal after looking around for homes. Soon after, we went into escrow and it was a 30 day escrow started in April 20th and ending in May 20th.

During this time, we're supposed to gather additional funding and find lendors to give me a loan. This was probably the most difficult part of this process since my lack of financial history had problems in drawing the loan. After considerable phone calls and deals, we find countrywide and get our process rolling through their retail channel of processing. RIght then and there was my first mistake. Not only was countrywide a mega national corporation which had such a large bureaucracy that it takes forever just to get a response or situation resolved. Any mistake would delay it one whole day since most of the people in the retail loan side did so many loans they didn't really care about speed. If we went through my uncle and spent the extra money on him, we could've sped up this process about 20 days faster than usual since he is a loan officer. The longest delay in this process was what was known as approval and checks. This is when the morgage company would randomly select people within their own loan process to do a CRYSTAL CLEAR job in everything from your background to where you ate and slept for the night. It seriously felt like a background check and FBI looking through your financial records for ENRON like dealings. After that process and we cleared all the conditions of the loan, we were approved after 2 weeks the house was supposed to be ours. The previous homeowners were pretty chill about the whole event since it wasn't our fault except choosing countrywide. After the loan docs were approved, we waited for the docs to be sent to escrow but WAIT ONE SECOND, its memorial day weekend! That's right, they decided to screw me on two business days and take a break on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Not working during these days were understandable but FRIDAY? come on... They only work M-F 9-3pm everday, wow such hard work... After memorial day weekend ended, we came on a 4 day week which required everyone to work catchup and delay every loan doc and processing place on earth. They were supposed to send it through email or by ground delivery but whatever they used (smoke signals or pony express) they didn't send it fast enough and the 4 day week went and past. The following week they decided to sell countrywide or do some administrative counseling which meant everyone on the higher up of the ladder was being reassigned or fired for management reasons. That delayed the docs another week and I was stuck with friends sad and wanting to move in and party.

So it brings us to this day, June 2, 2006. Escrow is about 2 (BUSINESS) days away and I can't wait until we move in and I leave this place called home for 19 years. I'm so happy, i'll bomb their place if this gets delayed one more time...

The good and the bad...

I was pulled over by the greatest police force in history. The Chaffey Campus Police Department. Yes that is correct, the great Chaffey police department pulled me over and told me I broke several laws. First law broken was doing a rolling stop in a T intersection and not stopping completely. Second violation was parking in a handicap spot to let my friend Mike walk 10 steps instead of 200 feet to the nearest parking space. When he pulled me over, he told me to roll down my illegal tinted windows so we can speak more clearly,

Offcier: "do you have a driver's license?"
Yes I do sir....here.
Officer "Can I have your registration and insurance?"
I am going over to grab my information in the glove compartment, is that okay?
Offcier: ":::nods:::"
Here you go sir
Offcier: "Do you know why I pulled you over?"
Was it the parking and the rolling stop I did 10 seconds ago?
Offcier: "YOU KNOW I'M A POLICE OFFICER"
I didn't question you sir
Offcier: "YOU KNOW I CAN WRITE TICKETS?"
Yes sir
Offcier: "Wait right here (taking my registration and license and going back to his vehicle)"
(so now i'm crying in my seat... lol jk. but matt was laughing at the police officer trying to be serious while mike langford walks into my car while the police officer has me pulled over and says 'whoa, what's happening guys' "
Offcier: "(3 minutes later he returns to my vehicle) YOU KNOW I'M A POLICE OFFICER RIGHT"
Offcier: "THE HANDICAP IS FOR HANDICAP PEOPLE ONLY"
Offcier: "YOU DID A ROLLING STOP"
Offcier: "DO YOU KNOW HOW TO DRIVE"
Offcier: "ARE YOU A STUDENT HERE"
Yes sir
Offcier: "I AM A POLICE OFFICER AND I CAN WRITE YOU UP AND SEND IT TO THE POLICE STATION"
Offcier: "YOU DON'T WANT TO GET A TICKET"
I'm very sorry officer -_-
Offcier: "YOU KNOW WHAT, I'M GOING TO LET YOU GO WITH A WARNING"
Yes sir, thank you
Offcier: "I ONLY GIVE 1 WARNING A YEAR, DON'T LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN"
Yes sir, thank you
Offcier: (drives away)

This event taught me several things, he probably saw my record on my license and decided not to issue any tickets since I fought each one and won, or I had a clean record because I fought each one and won.

Second, I will not underestimate Chaffey College Police. They're powerful and can pull people over.

It was an awesome experience... lol HILARIOUS. "I AM A REAL POLICE OFFICER"

Today was the scholarship award from the ASCC and I was awarded $500 for my essay and nomination from my teacher. I got two of my friends $2,000 total too so they owe me lunch (dimple, and mike)

Shop-alcoholics...it runs in the family

I've noticed today that I've been online shopping for random stuff lately that I really don't need. I need to stop because I've noticed how many things I don't have but its really pointless. Whenever the LA TIMES gets delivered to our home, we get two. Our parents thought we needed two subscriptions to the same newspaper because we had so many people just stealing it for samples, interesting articles? and other reasons. If we see two, we usually just toss the other one away but its been cluttering the house and the garage altogether. Tthe only main section I read as of right now is straight to the sports section and the back is my trusty fry's electronics advertisement. I know this may seem odd to some of you but fry's advertisement is something you can count on like the sun rising from the east and setting in the west. It has been there ever since I grew up and it has become the source of half of my impulse purchases. They really need to open one up near fontana or something. I need a costco, home depot, frys, and of course a 5 lane freeway on the 15.
